How long before my rental starts should I be at the marina?
It is a recommended you arrive at least 40 minutes before your rental time to fill paperwork out and to do a full boat checkout. Your rental time starts at the time of your reservation. If you are late or take extra time to load your reservation time will not be pushed.
What is the minimum age for the person in charge of renting and driving the boat?
21 years is the minimum age requirement for renting a ski boat and 18 years old for all other boats and watercraft.
What is the minimum age for passengers on a rental boat?
There is no minimum age for passengers on a rental boat but any passenger under the age of 12 needs to wear a life jacket while the boat is moving. We do offer life jackets for all ages at no charge with our rentals.
What do I need to bring with me to rent a boat?
2 items are required (1) a government issued photo ID (2) A major credit card for a damage deposit.
Are there any additional costs on top of the hourly rental rate?
We do charge for the gas used on our ski boats. The cost of the fuel depends on how fast and how far you travel. On average boat fuel costs range from $20-$40 per hour.
Do I need a boat license to rent a boat?
Though a boat license is perffered it is not required. We provide a free one day boating license for our rentals only, we will provide up to three lisences per rental.
Can I reserve our boat in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend that you reserve your boat rental in advance to ensure that you get the boat and time you want. You can call 503-854-3423 to make your reservation. We do require a $50.00 reservation deposit..
What is your cancellation policy for for boat rentals that are booked in advance?
Wehave a standard 48-hour cancellation policy. Those cancelling 48 hours or more prior to their reservation will receive a full refund. Those cancelling within those 48 hours of their reservation can re-schedule their boat rental to a new date at no charge or have the deposit be held for a year. “No shows” can be charged the full rental rate.
Is the drinking of alcohol allowed on the boat?
The driver of the boat may NOT, the same rules regarding driving under the influence on the road apply to drivers on the water and are policed by the Marion County Sheriff. If we feel a person is already under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrival we will use our discretion and refuse service to that group.
Can I bring my dog on the boat?
Yes, dogs are allowed on the boats. There is a $25 clean up fee if there is hair and dirt left in the boats.
Do you provide fishing licenses?
No , but we do sell fishing license in the store.
Was Detroit Lake Marina affected by the wildfires?
